Lucky You

Coming to the end of the year now and already seeing threads and hype for label of the year. Personally speaking its either Night Slugs or Numbers for me but todays post is concentrating on another collective of artists. Lucky Me have been in the game now for a "minute". Founded by The Blessings, Hudson Mohawke and Dublin Boy done good Mike Slott, they run amazing club nights in the UK, release amazing music on their label and have tons of amazing mixes from amazing artists for free download on their site. So pretty much amazing all round. Todays track is from The Blessings and is part of a 10 track free bundle, the other 9 from the likes of Mike Slott, Lunice and Dema can be found here, and its a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine.

Low Limit

I try not to repost items that are all over the interwebs but making an exception for this one. Low Limit is half of production outfit Lazersword. Theyv put out a slew of mixtapes over the last year and their debut longplayer came out earlier in the month. Its a sound I find myself looking out for more and more, love the techy beats at low bpms. Getting back to the subject, Low Limit recently completed a mix for Brain Feeder and its quite good. Would advise getting it for the ipod

Chi Town

Surprised I hadn't seen this on any of the blogs I usually read. 5 Magazine is based out of Chicago and to celebrate their 5th anniversary they went about interviewing 40 artists from Chicago about the sound that the city is famous for. Looking through the list of artists is pretty much a who's who of the house and techno scene and its pretty amazing that they all came out of the same city .The likes of Dj Slugo, Dj Deeon, Green Velvet, Ron Trent, E Smoove, Mike Dunne
and many more. There's 40 interviews each accompanied by a free track from the artist. Every interview gives you a different slant on the sounds coming out of the city but for me it was good to hear what some of the founding fathers of the sound that I love today had to say about some of the new crop of artists that are currently enjoying their day in the spotlight.
