Kode 9 Essential Mix

Highly Recommended. Tracklist here

Mr Oizo

Trousers that stayed creased launched Mr Oizo. Listening back to this mix the French swagger and laissez faire attitude is clear with each track somehow managing to roll into the next. Theres a very fine line between someone putting on a crap performance and someone who manages to pull off blending music questionably by changing tempos and momentum but still keeping the energy levels up. If you can look past the Justice track and a few others this mix is full of great music and well worth a listen.

Mr Oizo Live @ WMF 2005

His first love of course was photography and film and his new offering Rubber, about a tyre that comes to life and starts murdering people, is out soon. You can get a peak and listen to some of the mans thoughts on it over here.

Old Apparatus

This is just amazing. One of the best purchases I have got in a long time. Out now on Deep Medi, Ladies and Gents Old Apparatus.

[naked lunch]

[naked lunch] label boss Micky has put together a mix and done an interview for the futureproofing blog. Pretty much a selection of tracks your going to be trolling for for the next 7 months. I always enjoy his mixes and he comes across as a really decent bloke, nice also that an Irish label is at the forefront of the scene that Im very much into at the moment. You can check out the mix and his musings at the link below.

214

Another Bloc promo mix this time from Seattle native 214. In his own words "Am playing BLOC festival, in the BLOC Dome, this coming March and wanted to put a promo mix together to showcase my sound.I'm playing live at the festival, but too much new music that needed to be put on a mix". Indeed there is, full tracklist over on his soundcloud page. Some highlights are forthcoming releases on Swamp81 and some of his own unreleased tracks.

214 Bloc Promo mix

Im really liking his own beats aswel, he has one up for free download on his soundcloud. Lovely electro vibe to it and full details of all his releases here.

Ben UFO

One of my favourite Dj's of recent years and someone who is consistently on point with selections, Ben UFO. This all vinyl mix was done for the Red Bull Music Academy not so long ago. Interview with the man over on The Quietus
